Rolling Stones in Abu Dhabi: Plan your day

Make it a perfect day with the right pre-gig food and post-show parties

Brunch
You need to kick off a big day in style, and that can only mean one thing… brunch. If it’s live music and a party that will have you warmed up and in the right mood for The Stones, then get down to PJ O’Reilly’s and grab an outside table. House band Sweet Chilli Jam will be playing from mid-afternoon onwards and we’re sure they know a few Stones tracks, so get your requests in.

Alternatively, if you’re all about a good feed before you rock out, then there are foodie brunches available throughout the city (look out for our Top Brunches supplement out next month). The current TOAD Brunch of the Year is at Pearls & Caviar, book a table here if you want to experience something special.
PJ O’Reilly’s brunch: Dhs150. 1pm-4pm, Le Royal Meridien Hotel, Khalifa bin Zayed Street, www.pjspubabudhabi.com (02 695 0530)
Pearls & Caviar Brunch: Dhs290 with soft drinks, Dhs330 with free-flowing beverages, Dhs475 with bubbly. 1pm-4pm, Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri, Bain Al Jessrain (02 509 8777).

Before the concert
For the best atmosphere and proximity to the venue, Yas Island is the place to be before the concert starts. Head to Stills Bar & Brasserie at Crowne Plaza Yas Island and sit in the large outside terrace, where on a Friday ladies can have free selected beverages.

Alternatively make your way down to Yas Marina and stop off at Stars ‘n’ Bars. The American diner and bar comes alive in the early evening, the hops and mixed drink menus here extensive.
Stills Bar & Brasserie: Open daily noon-1am. Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island, www.ichotelsgroup.com (02 656 3053).
Stars ‘n’ Bars: Open Sun-Weds noon-1.30am, Thurs-Sat noon-2.30am. Yas Marina (02 565 0101).

Into the night
If you’re still in the mood to party after the concert don’t worry, because once again Yas Island has got you covered. For hardcore clubbers, Rush nightclub is open til 3.30 am, and while you probably won’t hear any of the Stones’ classics here, that isn’t any reason not to dance the night away.

If a late bar with big tunes is more your style, then Iris in Yas Marina is the bar for you. Always packed and open well into the night, Iris is one of the most popular bars in the city at the weekends, and it’s easy to see why. Sit outside at the island bar and check out the sublime views of Yas Circuit and the marina, or head in join the party on the dance floor.
Rush: Open Thurs, Fri, Sat and Mon 10pm-3.30am. Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, www.viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/abudhabi (02 656 0060).
Iris: Open daily 6pm-3am, Yas Marina (055 160 5636).
