Liwa International Festival is returning to Abu Dhabi this month

You can see vehicles fly up the Moreeb Dune

Back once again, the Liwa International Sports Festival will return to the capital from December 26 to January 10.

Across sixteen days you can venture into the desert to see drivers, bikers and more take of the Moreeb Dune, known as the terrifying mountain.

With an estimated 50 degree slip face and 300m height, the huge desert dune will host some amazing challenges across the festival as drivers attempt to ascend the slope in style.

While you can sign up to take part, the event has become a spectator sport too, so you can park up and watch the action unfold without having to ensure your car has a roll cage.

It’s not all about the Moreeb Dune though, throughout the festival a number of other events and challenges will take place including a bike race, motocross track challenge, camel racing, horse racing and more.

Away from the motorsport, the festival also celebrates UAE culture and heritage plus on-site camping facilities mean you can experience sleeping under the stars between events.
