The Women’s Heritage Walk is coming back to Abu Dhabi next year

This year there’ll also be a Men’s Heritage Walk

Abu Dhabi is home to a number of brilliant cultural events and attractions.

Throughout the year events are held to connect both expats and locals to the history of the UAE and it’s traditions.

Celebrating the Bedouin history of the UAE, a popular cultural event is set to return in 2020.

The sixth annual Women’s Heritage Walk will be held between January 31 and February 4.

The five-day trek sees ladies follow a 120km route that recreates the season journey, undertaken by Emirati tribes of the past, from the coast to an inland oasis.

Setting off from Abu Dhabi the trek will end in Al Ain, where tribes would enjoy the cooler months of the year.

In 2020, for the very first time, the Men’s Heritage Walk will also be held from February 7 to 11.

Next year, men will be able to take on the trek as well to become more connected to the history of the UAE.

In the lead up to both events participants will receive training from guides for ten weeks before setting off on the five day journey, spending four nights under the stars in the desert.

Walkers will also enjoy Arabic food at each Bedoiun camp they stop at along the way.

Registration for the Women’s and Men’s walks is now open and you can sign up by visiting www.womensheritagewalk.com.

We think it’s brilliant.
