How to meet a film star

Confirmed: Julianne Moore, Uma Thurman and Adrien Brody

As you’ll have read in this week’s Time Out Abu Dhabi, the city’s film festival is one for the people. The red carpet will be rolled out on Thursday night, with stars rumoured to include Kate Winslet, Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson pulling on designer togs in preparation.

Sceptics are keen to dismiss the big names as money-grabbing timewasters, reputedly paid vast sums to wave at the cameras before jumping in an Al Ghazal taxi back to AUH without so much as a nod to the grand mosque (we’re looking at you, Demi Moore), but there are those that put in the hard graft. This year, the stars jetting in to meet, greet and chat with Abu Dhabi’s film lovers include Julianne Moore (A Single Man, The Big Lebowski, Boogie Nights), Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, The Accidental Husband) and this week’s big Time Out interview star, Adrien Brody (The Pianist, King Kong, Predators).

Along with a host of Middle Eastern cinema notables, the Hollywood A-listers will be taking your questions at the National Theatre and the Emirates Palace tent, and lounging around for tea and cucumber sandwiches with you and your buddies at the events and times listed below.
