Huge changes are coming to Abu Dhabi as part of a Dhs8 billion redevelopment

New parks, public spaces and city renovation are on the cards

Abu Dhabi is a wonderful city to call your home.

This year alone, the UAE capital was named the world’s friendliest city, one of the leading destinations in the world for tourists and one of the most-family friendly cities in the world.

Now, a Dhs8bn investment is set to upgrade the city to make it one of the most livable destinations in the world.

As part of the Ghadan 21 accelerator programme, 300 developmental projects will be undertaken across the city by the end of 2021.

The For Abu Dhabi initiative, from the Department of Municipalities and Transport, aims to improve the quality of life in the UAE capital.

As part of the ongoing initiative you can expect new public parks, upgrade to the streets, public fitness areas, areas to enjoy nature and improvements to the traffic infrastructure.

Construction works are expected to start in the second quarter of 2020 and will be implemented in phases to transform public spaces in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

Initial work will focus on Abu Dhabi city before moving elsewhere in the emirate.

It’s exciting times in the capital and we look forward to seeing the changes as they happen.
