Alex Brual, 29, Abu Dhabi Mall

Hi there! We’ll cut to the chase – what do you do?
I’m working as a salesperson for Adidas. The office is right here in Abu Dhabi Mall.

Nice look you’ve got going on there. Where do you go shopping? Don’t say Adidas.
My wife and I shop around here mostly, in Abu Dhabi Mall and sometimes Marina Mall. But I also know of some good smaller shops in Al Ain, if you’re interested.

What about when you’re not loading up on bargains? What do you do in your spare time?
I like playing basketball in my free time. There’s a club down by the Corniche [located in front of Bayunah Hilton Hotel, free to all players] and I try to play for a least an hour a week, since I don’t really have time to get to the gym in my busy schedule.

Lots of time spent in malls, then. Stop by the cinema much?
Not for five or six months. But I did watch Centurion on a laptop recently, so I’d like to see that in the cinema. Have you seen it?

We wouldn’t bother, if we were you. It’s not up to much. Any big events coming up in the city that you’re excited about?
I’d like to see the F1 at Yas Marina. Last year we missed it, so I hope I have the chance to go there.

What about music acts? Bothered by Linkin Park at all?
I haven’t heard much about who’s coming, but I’d like to see some rock bands in the city. Before there was Coldplay, right? I like that kind of music so I’d like to see something similar.
