A UAE programme is searching for 20 young environmental activists

Want to have a voice?

The effects of climate change are becoming more apparent and as the world is working out how to deal with it, young people will no doubt want to take action.

Giving the youth in the UAE a voice to speak out on environmental issues, a programme is searching for young people to step forward and become environmental champions.

Connect With Nature has launched the Ambassador for Nature competition to find 20 environmental advocates.

The programme, backed by Emirates Nature-WWF and the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi, the International Fund for Houbara Conservation, will support successful candidates to learn more about protecting nature and acquire skills and knowledge that will make a tangible impact on the UAE’s natural world.

People aged between 15 and 30 can volunteer and become honorary UAE Nature Ambassadors.

To be a part of the Ambassadors for Nature campaign candidates need to download the Connect With Nature mobile app, collect badges on the app, refer friends to join and create a short video to explain how they would make a difference as an ambassador.

Once applicants have completed the steps they will receive an official completion certificate and a panel of judges will select 20 successful applicants to be announced on World Environment Day, June 5.
