You can play Squid Game at Expo 2020’s Korean Pavilion

Fret not, there’s no risk of being eliminated…

Think you can play Squid Game better than Seong Gi-hun? Red-hot at Red Light, Green Light? Well, now you can prove it at the Korean Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Fans of the popular dystopian South Korean Netflix show Squid Game can experience real life versions of the games in the series – minus the violence and life-taking eliminations.

Players can try their hand at the now famous traditional Korean playground games every day at Expo 2020 Dubai until Thursday November 14. The hour-long games begin at 3pm every day.

Expect to see the same eerie masked guards watching you while you sweat to finish the challenge in time to save your neck.

Be warned, tensions will be high, with some of those ‘so easy’ games packing plenty of challenge.

If you can stand still without flexing a muscle, are daring enough to step on glass and meticulous at carving shapes out of a honeycomb candy, you might just come out a winner.

The Korean Cultural Center in the UAE recently hosted another version of the games in Abu Dhabi to an overwhelming response.

More than 300 people registered to participate in the tournament, out of which 30 were chosen to play the rounds divided in two teams.

Since its release, Squid Game fever has gripped viewers worldwide, including right here in the UAE.

According to Netflix, more than 130 million people have watched the megahit Korean show.

Written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the nine-episode series follows the story of 456 cash-strapped contestants risking their lives for a tempting prize that could solve all their life problems.
