Swine flu fears in Dubai, and across the UAE, have produced a worrying number of alternative prevention and treatment remedies, but don’t be tempted to try them.
The US Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission, supported by the dietary supplement and herbal industry, has warned the public against unapproved swine flu remedies or vaccines.
The only drugs approved for the prevention and treatment of swine flu are oseltamivir phosphate (Tamifluand zanamivir (Relenza). No swine flu vaccine has been approved for use as yet.
