Abu Dhabi to host 40th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run in March

Lace up for a good cause

The Terry Fox Run is set to return to Abu Dhabi once again for a landmark event.

This year the event is set to mark its 40th anniversary, and once again it’s all for a good cause.

The all-inclusive run is held every year to celebrate the legacy of Canadian philanthropist Terry Fox who after being diagnosed with cancer in 1980, decided to run across the whole of his native land in aid of cancer research.

The run gathered great support, but unfortunately his cancer forced him to stop part way through the run.

This year, thousands of people are expected to sign up to take part in the UAE capital again on March 20.

Taking place on the Corniche, you can walk, wheel ride or run a 5km or 10km distance all in aid of cancer research.

The Terry Fox Run is open to people of all ages and abilities and has no entry fee, no minimum pledge and a non-competitive atmosphere.

You can decide how much you would like to pledge to help cancer research around the world.

Donations are encouraged through t-shirt sales or monetary donations to the Terry Fox Foundation. It’s a truly brilliant event.
