Art exhibitions in Abu Dhabi

Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, Fatema Al Mazrouie and more

Globe

A diverse collection of work from 21 artists hailing from 19 different countries that includes everything from canvases to installations. Those with pieces on display include Emirati collage specialist Fatema Al Mazrouie, Wafa Khazendar (pictured) and British photographer George Lewis, whose provocative images, which throw the cultural differences between the Middle East and the West into the spotlight, are sure to raise the odd eyebrow.
Free. Until February 28. Salwa Zeidan Gallery

RSTW

Having already hosted the likes of Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock, this blockbuster of a show sees Abu Dhabi add Ed Ruscha, Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Serra, Cy Twombly, Christopher Wool and Andy Warhol to its growing collection of A-list exhibitors. It’s all thanks to legendary New York-based art impresario Larry Gagosian, who has brought his previously unseen private collection of artwork to the city. With just a couple of weeks left before he packs up his wares and ships them back to the states, get a visit in your diary if you’ve not already been.
Free. Until January 24. Manarat Al Saadiyat

Guess the Artist

A new group show of 21cmx29cm canvases by a group of anonymous artists. The twist being that if you want to know who’s behind a particular piece, you’ll have to open your wallet and buy it. All works are priced at Dhs1,000, so there’s the chance to make a shrewd investment if your artistic eye is keen enough. There’s no obligation to buy, of course, but with the most interesting works likely to be snapped up early, we’d recommend visiting in the first few days to avoid being left with the dregs.
Free. February 1-12. Ghaf Gallery
