UAE rush on Tamiflu

Spike in sales of drug said to ‘treat’ swine flu in the UAE

UAE chemists have reported a sharp increase in sales of Tamilflu, a drug said to help treat swine flu, despite the fact that we have no reported cases of the deadly disease as yet.

Pharmacies in Dubai have reported that a lot of people have been stocking up on the drug as a precautionary measure but there has been no panic buying, it seems we’re just picking it up with our usual shopping.

Hopefully, we won’t need our own stocks of Tamiflu as airports across the UAE are using heat detectors to scan passengers arriving in the UAE for traces of the disease.

Swine flu, which originated in Mexico, has so far killed hundreds of people worldwide with over 500 known to be infected so far.
