You could give your Valentine a bouquet of flowers or treat them to a swanky dinner, but how about going through the mangroves of Ras Al Khaimah for UAE’s underwater treasure?
Now that’s romantic. But don’t fret, you won’t have to fish for it yourself thanks to Suwaidi Pearl Farm’s offer.
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has partnered with the farm to offer couples across the UAE a chance to experiences the age-old Emirati tradition of pearl farming.
Until Monday February 24 from 9am until 5pm, couples will begin at the foot of the Hajar Mountains, where they will get a red rose before being whisked off on a 45-minute tour of the mangroves in a pearl dhow boat.
The tour will take lovebirds to key diving sites, all while telling tales of the ancient Emirati tradition, along with Arabic treats including pastries and finger food, Arabic tea, coffee, juices and water be-fore being dropped off at the Suwaidi Farm House.
The tour will show the history and cultural significance of the pearling industry in the UAE, showing off an array of beautiful pearls that have been sourced by the farm.
On their way out, couples will get a gift bag with chocolate and their very own pearl and shell from the natural lagoon.
