10 of the best festive treats to try at Time Out Market Dubai

Sackloads of superb bites

Time Out Market Dubai will be decked out head to (mistle)toe in a cosy winter Christmas setting reminiscent of traditional European festive markets this month, and its rockstar vendors are going all out to make sure their menus match the celebratory vibes.

Running until Wednesday January 5, Time Out Festive Market is now in full yuletide swing, with more than 30 Christmas-inspired dishes adding the trimmings to the Market’s usual epic feasts.

Hungry? here are some of the top festive eats to check out right now.

21grams Balkan Bakery & Deli’s
Festive chocolate and hazelnut baklava

21grams’ arrival at Time Out Market Dubai has already been ticked off our wish-list, meaning everything from this point forward is just a delicious bonus. That said, the festive chocolate and hazelnut baklava that kitchen creatives have whipped up for Christmas 2021 has us shouting ‘I want that one’ louder than a toddler throwing a temper tantrum.

BB Social’s
Tempura lobster and caviar bao

Brilliant baos are BB’s business, and this little number may soon be at the top of the Christmas charts. BB Social’s bites are a crowd favourite at Time Out Market Dubai, and this tempura lobster and caviar wombo-combo has all the makings of another knockout.

folly Workshop’s
Giant Yorkshire pudding with roast turkey leg

Christmas dinner just got the Time Out Market Dubai treatment, and you know you are going to want to throw on your fave Santa socks when ploughing into this one. The chefs at folly know their way around traditional British dinners, so it’s no surprise they are giving their own twist to a Christmas classic.

Fulvio’s
Classic spaghetti alle vongole

Served with sautéed clams, this is a sure fire way to have a buon natale at the city’s hottest dining destination. Spaghetti on Christmas Day may seem a little odd, but by the time you’ve slurped this off your plate you will be queuing up for a second round.

Little Erth’s
Pecan pie

We are admittedly suckers for Little Erth’s sweet treats, so the prospect of sticking a spoon into a fat slice of pecan pie has us typing through a puddle of drool on our keyboard. The vegan specialists know how to do sweet conclusions and the hype around this nutty slice of goodness is legit. A gift, from you, to you (probably).

Pickl’s
Ahh Bisto Bird v3.0

Pioneers of stuff between buns, Pickl are not messing around with their turkey dinner Ahh Bisto Bird v3.0 (but that doesn’t mean it won’t be messy). You’ll certainly need to slap on a bib for this beast of a burger, which comes stacked with all the Christmas dinner trimmings, crowned by a ball of stuffing.

Pitfire’s
Warm apple pie

Pitfire is throwing its hat into the hotly-contested – and oh so scrummy – dessert arena at Time Out Market Dubai. The famed pizza joint will have you saying my oh my to a warm slice of apple pie. Served alongside creamy vanilla custard and cinnamon sugar knots – because they are absolutely unavoidable – and we’re pretty sure you’ll be loosening the buckles on your belt before close of play.

Reif Japanese Kushiyaki’s
Silky turkey ramen

Reif does ramen and it does it well, which is why we were far from surprised to see the Japanese bowls given a festive riff at Time Out Market Dubai this month. A prime pick for getting your festive fix without feeling like you are carrying around a sack-load afterwards. Is wrapping up a bowl of ramen and slotting it under the tree to open on Christmas Day a good idea? Asking for a friend.

Scoopi’s
After Eight / Terry’s Chocolate Orange ice cream

Yes. That’s it. That’s the memo for Scoopi’s stupendous take on not one, but two classic Christmas flavours. Whatever your preference (it’s both, who are you kidding?), you’ll be able to score scoops of After Eight and Terry’s Chocolate Orange at Time Out Market Dubai, each given the liquid nitrogen treatment by the frozen treat wizards at Scoopi. The best bit? You don’t even have to wait until the clock passes 8pm to dig in.
