Dubai Shopping Festival is back and there are plenty of festive bargains to be had

‘Tis the season to shop, play and be entertained

An early Christmas present has arrived in the form of the Dubai Shopping Festival, and we’re ready to bag a bargain.

DFS, as it is also known for short, will be bringing its Dubai-wide retail and entertainment programme back from tomorrow (Wednesday December 15), and it will run through to the end of January next year.

This will be the 27th edition of the much-anticipated and widely adored festival, which is the world’s longest-running retail event. Expect offers on home-grown and global brands, live entertainment and fun for all of the family.

he Opening Weekend

The festival will kick off with a spectacular opening ceremony, which will be broadcast live on MBC and Dubai One.

The ceremony will feature live performances by Emirati superstar Balqees Fathi and Egypt’s award-winning artist, Mohamed Hamaki (tickets from Dhs75, available on Platinumlist). There will also be Augmented Reality (AR) stage integrations and Burj Khalifa light shows to boot.

Expect a whole host of events across Dubai, including a Love Actually festive special at Zero Gravity, performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at The Theatre (Mall of Emirates) and Aladdin at the QE2 Theatre, to name a few.

What’s more, the second edition of the DSF Drone Light Show will be returning to The Beach (opposite JBR) and will run daily from 7.15pm to 9.30pm.

Bag a bargain and win

Dubai Shopping Festival will be bringing a sack-full of festive deals just in time for the big day so if you’ve still got plenty of Christmas shopping to do (or haven’t even started) then you won’t want to miss out.

There will be hotel flash sales to take advantage of, daily surprises in the form of limited-time deals in the run-up to Christmas Day and pop-up DSF Markets in various locations across the city.

There’s Dhs30million worth of prizes up for grabs throughout Dubai Shopping Festival. You’ll have the chance to bag prizes such as a Nissan Patrol, INFINITI QX80 and Dhs100,000 cash.

As if that all wasn’t already enough, DSF’s flagship alternative shopping destination Etisalat Market OTB will be returning to Burj Park, complete with a roller skate rink, padel court and much more.

Keep your eye out for the six Instagramable art installations by the Dubai Lights project and be sure not to miss out on the DSF entertainment programme taking place at Expo 2020.
