Take a snooze at the UAE’s first sleep concert

The Theatre of Digital Art is hosting the concerts throughout February

Calling all sleepy-heads. The Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) is hosting the UAE’s first sleep concert, where it is completely socially acceptable to snooze in public. We are so here for it.

Have you ever desperately needed to take a nap, but had to hold off because you didn’t want strangers to think you were weird? This promises to be the ultimate event for you – and it’s the first of its kind in the United Arab Emirates.

ToDA’s live musical relaxation concert is all about laying down and chilling. This is the first concert in the UAE where it’s okay for people to snooze mid-set. The concert is happening at Souk Madinat Jumeirah on February 18, 19, 25 and 26. It goes from 10pm to 1am, and a regular ticket costs Dhs150 per person. You can also upgrade to a premium experience for Dhs200 per person.

The tradition of listening to music for relaxation can be traced back to our ancestors. It’s a powerful tool for stress relief, helps you sleep and supports mental health. Now you can experience it in a modern way in Dubai.

When the concert starts, visitors will be mesmerised by musical sounds and minimalist abstract light and video art. The session will be followed by warm, soothing drinks and a calming ambience with visual effects to create a meditative and hypnotic environment.

During the second hour, the music will get slower and deeper, helping the audience fall into a peaceful sleep. In the last hour, the music takes an upbeat note to gently awaken the audience. It certainly sounds relaxing. Who’s ready for a nap?

Dhs150 (regular), Dhs200 (premium). Feb 18, 19, 25, 26, 10pm-1am. Theatre of Digital Art, Souk Madinat Jumeirah toda.ae/en/component/sppagebuilder/?view=page&id=57 (04 277 4044).
