COVID booster third and fourth doses in Abu Dhabi: full details

UAE residents qualify for boosters after six months, or less for those who are high risk

UAE residents will need booster shots to maintain green status on the Al Hosn app. Booster doses are required for all types of vaccines, such as the Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik vaccines, and receiving a third pr fourth jab will ensure you keep the green pass.

Wondering when you can get your booster shot? United Arab Emirates residents qualify for COVID-19 booster vaccines after six months since their last dose of a vaccine – or three months if you’re considered high risk.

The Al Hosn app shared the COVID protocol update on social media about maintaining a green pass with a booster vaccination: “Booster doses for all types of vaccines are required.

“Make sure to book yours now if it has been six months since you completed your vaccination to maintain the green pass.”

On Tuesday February 8, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC) issued a reminder about getting vaccinated when you are eligible.

Eligible citizens and residents can receive a booster dose of Sinopharm or Pfizer-BioNTech jabs, based on their vaccination history and age. The booster dose is necessary to maintain green status on the Al Hosn app.

Those who received two or three doses of Sinopharm can get a booster dose of Sinopharm of Pfizer after six months since their last dose.

Received two or three doses of Pfizer? You will be eligible to receive a Pfizer booster six months after your last dose.

People who received two doses of Sinopharm and a Pfizer booster already can receive another dose of Pfizer after six months.

If you are considered high risk, you qualify to receive a COVID booster after three months since your last dose.

Al Hosn is the UAE’s official app for COVID-19 PCR test results and the green pass. Having green status enables people entry into various places including shopping malls, restaurants, attractions, clinics and much more.

If you lose your green status, the Al Hosn app with turn grey, and you will not be allowed entry into such places and attractions. Having a COVID-19 booster and a negative PCR test result that is not more than 14 days old are part of maintaining the green pass on the Al Hosn app in Abu Dhabi.

Having green status on the Al Hosn app is also required to enter Abu Dhabi from other Emirates.

The booster green pass update follows Abu Dhabi updating its procedures for those who test positive for COVID-19 and those who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
