du is waiving data charges to keep costs down for kids learning at home in the UAE

Parents and students can access educational websites for free

As parents and students across the UAE get ready to implement home-learning programmes set by their schools, du has announced that it will be waiving data charges.

Parents and students who have either a postpaid or a prepaid account with the telecoms provider can access school and educational websites without incurring any data charges.

In addition, du will be providing access to a number of select school services, including Blackboard collaborate, Zoom, Google Hangouts Meet and Microsoft Teams, plus Skype for Business for its customers with a fixed line contract.

Speaking about the lack of data charges for school websites and online educational platforms, du CEO, Johan Dennelind, said: “As a leading national organisation, it is our responsibility to utilise our resources and capabilities that will enable us to support the Ministry of Education as well as all schools and universities in the UAE.”
