Dubai’s Emirates Airlines temporarily suspends flights to more than 100 destinations

Dubai’s Emirates Airline has suspended more flights to destinations across the globe – including London Stansted, Paris and Melbourne – and as a result of travel and immigration restrictions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 worldwide.

As of now, the Dubai-based airline has suspended flights to more than 100 destinations effective immediately (unless otherwise stated as per below) and more changes could be announced in the next coming days – watch this space for updates.

Affected customers should contact their travel agent or the Emirates office to request a travel voucher and a statement on the Emirates website reads:

“We are experiencing high call volumes due to COVID-19. If you are not travelling in the next 72 hours please consider calling us later.”

Here is a list of all the routes that have been temporarily suspended:

Africa

Abidjan (via Accra): From 21 March to 20 May
Abuja: From 23 March until further notice
Accra: From 20 March to 21 May
Algiers: From 18 March to 20 May
Cairo: From 19 March to 30 June
Casablanca: From 16 March to 30 June
Conakry: From 22 March to 19 May
Dakar (via Conakry): From 22 March to 19 May
Durban: From 24 March to 20 May
Harare (via Lusaka): From 20 March to 20 May
Khartoum: From 18 March to 20 May
Lagos: From 23 March until further notice
Lusaka: From 20 March to 20 May
Luanda: From 22 March to 20 May
Tunis: From 18 March to 20 May
Dubai to Mauritius: From 20 March to 2 April. During this time, passengers can only travel from Mauritius to Dubai as directed by Mauritian authorities.
