Angela Beitz visits Panacea Beauty Spa to try their aromatherapy massage and hydrating facial.
The promise
The facial is designed to rehydrate your skin to make it firm and fresh and the massage is meant to relax you. You can choose from different oils depending on your mood and needs.
Step-by-step
We were ushered upstairs at the lovely, relaxing spa and were shown into our treatment room. The facial started with delicate stretching of our arms and legs to improve circulation. It also incorporated shiatsu massage movements to create a deep relaxation and to tone the facial muscles. After our face was given a thorough double-cleanse, it was exfoliated and steamed before an amazing rich mineral mask was applied to intensely hydrate and revitalise our skin. While the mask was working its magic on our face, the therapist gave us a gentle head massage. An eye cream, serum and moisturiser were then applied, all of which left us feeling brand new again. It was then time for the aromatherapy massage and we chose the lavender for extra relaxation and to help us sleep well that night. We lay face down on the massage table and our therapist started by using her forearm, from fingertips to elbows, to work out our terrible knots between our shoulders blades, soothing the tension in our back. She then moved onto the rest of our body, thoroughly working the massage oil into our limbs with long strokes and we momentarily fell asleep.
The results
The facial left our face bright and we noticed a real difference the following day. People went so far as to comment saying we had a glow about us. We felt very soothed after the massage and slept very well that night.
Pros
The spa has an aura of calm about it and the staff are really professional. Because they offer so many different services this is a great place to go and get different things done to save you time. The prices are much cheaper than a lot of spas in the capital.
Cons
The spa is a little hard to find but once you have been there you’ll be able to find it easily and there is heaps of parking.
