Abu Dhabi’s Warehouse421 launches new online workshops and exhibitions

The local arts and design centre is offering creative programmes to enjoy at home

Abu Dhabi arts and design centre Warehouse421 is offering a series of online programme and virtual experiences to help the city’s art-lovers get their culture fix while social distancing.

The centre, located by Mina Zayed, will be hosting a series of video lessons, podcasts, book readings, community talks and curatorial tours, allowing us all to engage with regional narratives in art and design from our own homes.

The new remote programmes are all available to enjoy now by simply paying a visit to the Warehouse421 website.

The team has plenty in store for April including a new podcast episode featuring artist Hashel Al Lamki and curator Munira Al Sayegh, video workshops on pattern-making, sewing, and jewelry making and designing, and curatorial overviews of Warehouse421’s current exhibitions to name just a few of the things on offer.

Commenting on the new online venture, Faisal Al Hassan, Manager of Warehouse421 said: “Learning and artistic experiment is at the heart of Warehouse421’s mission, and we wanted to provide an avenue for the creative community, be they practitioners or audiences, to engage with art and design digitally while they are safe and social-distancing.

He added: “Through this virtual experience, we hope that regional creatives can continue to develop their artistic practices, connect with one another, and engage with art and design in new ways.”
