Abu Dhabi restaurants to deliver food by taxi

The capital’s Integrated Transport Centre launched the initiative that also extends to shops and other businesses

When self-isolating and spending more time at home and less time in the supermarket, you’d be forgiven for ordering in more than usual.

We’re guilty of it ourselves, but it’s a great way to support local restaurants and spend less time in the kitchen.

Helping restaurants and cafes across the city get their food to customers, the Integrated Transport Centre has announced a new initiative.

The Taxi Delivery Service for Sales Outlets Initiative is offering shops, restaurants and cafes the opportunity to deliver their food to customers by using Abu Dhabi’s taxis.

Restaurants can register for the service online and start delivering their dishes to homes across the city and help the public to stay home.

So don’t be too surprised if the next time you order food it arrives via taxi.
