UK and UAE sign Memorandum of Understanding in light of COVID-19 pandemic

The UAE and United Kingdom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate transit flights for British nationals heading to the UK in light of the COVID-19 panedemic.

The UAE will allow flights that carry British nationals to transit through UAE airports to the UK, and to give them necessary services.

It was signed on Saturday April 4 by Khalid Belhoul, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by Patrick Moody, UK Ambassador to the UAE.

Emirates has also announced a limited number of outbound passenger repatriation flights, as did Etihad Airways.
