Greek restaurant Mazi Abu Dhabi reopens at St. Regis Saadiyat Island

The “fine-casual” restaurant is back and serving up Mediterranean favourites

Hungry for Greek food? Mazi Abu Dhabi is officially open again at St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, and it’s serving up Greek specialties and Mediterranean vibes. Did someone say tzatziki?

Mazi Abu Dhabi is a bright and casual spot where you can pull up a seat in the rustic dining room or out on the terrace. The outdoor area has a wood and fire grill where guests can watch the team cook on the fire.

The menu at Mazi is all about the cultural traditions of Greece with a relaxed style of dining. Each dish is brought to the table as soon as it’s ready to be served.

The menu is based on the childhood memories of founders Christina Mouratoglou and Adrien Carré. The pair launched Mazi London in Notting Hill and have brought the same innovative Greek dining to Abu Dhabi.

Mazi was previously open in Abu Dhabi in the same St. Regis Saadiyat Island venue, and it’s back again, hoping to take diners to the Greek islands.

Mazi is open for lunch from Wednesday to Monday, between noon and 3pm, and for dinner from 7pm to 11pm. The venue is closed on Tuesdays.

The casual sharing-style menu includes favourites such as tzatziki, Greek salad, kavourosalata (crab salad) and grilled calamari. You can also find innovative-sounding dishes such as the feta tempura, shredded lamb shoulder tacos and sea bass tartare.

There’s a gluten-free menu too, featuring chicken thigh souvlaki skewers, artichoke risotto à la polita, and more. All the dishes are made with sustainably sourced seasonal ingredients.

You can also rock up to this licensed spot for Greek grapes, premium bevvies and specialty mixed drinks inspired by the Grecian landscape.

Sounds like the ultimate new spot for a getaway.

Open Wed-Mon noon-3pm, 7pm-11pm. St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Saadiyat Island, restaurant.saadiyat@stregis.com (02 498 8888).
