BookMyShow expands virtual stage for homegrown UAE talent

Live From HQ to host polished performers and newcomers

Hilarious comedy nights, big-time performances, stellar musical gigs — we miss all the UAE has to offer, but BookMyShow’s online platform from bringing it all to your home.

Starting on Sunday April 12, the Live From HQ three-week series will see daily performances in three different categories including performing arts, comedy and music — all from the comfort at home.

So, who’s on the bill? Kicking it off is Dubai’s The Junction featuring daily 40-minute poetry readings, storytelling, monologues and more in English, Arabic, French, Hindi and Marathi.

This includes headlining local performers Malavika Varadan, Purva Grover, Gagan Mudgal and Hansraj. Expect Shakespearean monologues in A Bit o’the Bard; a Writing to Heal Workshop; and Qui a peur de Virginia Woolf – a monologue based on a 1962 Broadway play.

From Sunday April 19, there will be seven days of live comedy shows from UAE-based comedy agency Comic On Nights, with over 150 local and international shows under its belt.

“BookMyShow is expanding ‘Live From HQ’ to host A-list performers and discover emerging UAE talent,” said CEO of BookMyShow Middle East Sudhir Syal.

“Our decision to expand the artist roster by collaborating with local talent partners will further drive the next phase of ‘Live from HQ’ to create a series of multilingual live shows designed to cater to the UAE’s diverse audience demographics.”
