Andrea Bocelli’s Easter Sunday concert made available on-demand

Relive the Italian tenor’s stunning, reflective Duomo performance online now

If you missed Andrea Bocelli’s stunning Easter Sunday performance the first time round, or if you just want to relive the occasion, the entire stream of Music For Hope – Live From Duomo di Milano is available to stream now.

Set within the completely empty Duomo di Milano in the northern Italian city of Milan, Bocelli put on an historic solo performance accompanied only by the cathedral’s organist.

“On the day in which we celebrate the trust in a life that triumphs, I’m honored and happy to answer ‘Sì’ to the invitation of the City and the Duomo of Milan,” Bocelli says in the opening to the 24-minute video. “Thanks to music, streamed live, bringing together millions of clasped hands everywhere in the world, we will hug this wounded Earth’s pulsing heart, this wonderful international forge that is reason for Italian pride.”

And, indeed, millions of people around the world have been brought together, with more than 23 million having tuned in to the feed in the first 12 hours since its broadcast.

With classical pieces including Ave Maria, Santa Maria as well as a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace, Bocelli’s masterful vocals and the stunning setting of the Duomo set the scene for a performance that will no doubt go down in history as one of the most enduring, iconic images of the current global lockdown we find ourselves in.

“The generous, courageous, proactive Milan and the whole of Italy will be again, and very soon, a winning model, engine of a renaissance that we all hope for,” he concluded, poignantly.
