Abu Dhabi taxis introduce new safety measures to protect passengers

Plastic shields added to all cabs in the city

Abu Dhabi residents are asked to stay home where possible as the UAE bids to stop the spread of COVID-19.

However, if you do need to go out to get essential items like food and medicine, or are an essential worker, Abu Dhabi taxis have made improvements to cars to help protect the health of both passengers and drivers.

The Integrated Transport Centre announced that plastic isolators have been installed in cars that keep drivers and passengers separated through a transparent plastic sheet.

In addition, only two passengers at a time will be permitted to ride in the back of taxis.

The moves are to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
