Spinneys Liquor to launch legal home alcohol delivery in Abu Dhabi

Part of MMI group, it will deliver to your door

The first legal alcohol home delivery service is about to launch in Abu Dhabi by Spinneys Liquor, part of MMI group.

Residents of the capital can have alcohol delivered as long as they are over 21, non-Muslim, and have a valid Emirates ID, UAE driving license or original passport.

The company promises everything bought from spinneysbevhomedelivery.com, are “authentic products that have been transported in legal climate-controlled conditions”, in fact, if you’re not happy with the quality of your bottle, you can drop the team a line to let them know. Spinneys also says the prices will be competitive.

A select range of the most popular products from Spinneys stores will be available, covering hops, grape and short beverages, with the offering to be expanded in the future.

The minimum order is Dhs200 (including the 30 percent municipality tax and five percent VAT) and there will be a delivery fee of Dhs50. Payment is made through a secure gateway on the site before delivery.

Deliveries will be made to the entire emirate, except Al Ain and Ruwais, between 10am and 7pm, seven days a week.

Same-day delivery won’t be available at first, but may be introduced later. For orders made before noon, the products will be delivered within two days. Customers will receive a delivery slot and an SMS around 30 minutes before the driver arrives.

All drivers are trained to high levels of santisation, will wear face masks and will stand at least 2m from your door when dropping off the goods.

To order, you need to register at spinneysbevhomedelivery.com.

Once you sign up, Spinneys will let you know when the service launches (and there’s an introductory offer of 10 percent off at the time of writing).
