Probably the best first birthday party you’ll ever go to

On Thursday April 7, Time Out Market Dubai turned one. Hurrah! Come May, Time Out Market will be celebrating with special events, activities and plenty of in-person visits from all its leading chefs over three days of festivities, from Monday May 2 to Wednesday May 4.

Which is also very likely to coincide with the upcoming Eid holiday, which means you’ll have plenty of time to join in.

There will be three days of celebrations to mark Time Out Market Dubai’s first anniversary.

Guests will be treated to the dulcet tones of talented musicians, a rake load of kids activities to keep the little ones busy and a taste of some brand new vendors.

Let’s take a look at what we can expect.

Monday May 2

Get your week off to a good start with the first day of celebrations at Time Out Market Dubai.

Grab a bite at the brand new Lana Lusa as you sit back and enjoy live music from the much-loved Time Out Market stage regular, Dina Stars. The talented musician, who hails from Jordan, will be taking to the Time Out Market Dubai stage to deliver a soulful set covering her own renditions of popular RnB and contemporary pop songs. Catch Dina performing chilled covers from 1pm through to 4pm.

While you sit back and relax, you don’t need to worry – the kids will be entertained. For three hours, from 2pm there will be face-painting and balloon bending that will be sure to keep the kids happy.

Things will start to get a bit more lively from 8pm as Dj Dadou takes to the stage. Tuning the music to suit the vibe of the crowd, this will be a unique gig and will undoubtedly add to the brimming and buzzing atmosphere of the first day of festivities.

Tuesday May 3

Tuesday will see another day of jam-packed celebrations at Time Out Market Dubai.

Take this opportunity to try somewhere new; grab a bit of lunch at SLAB cocina and maybe a beverage from the Fountain Bar. From 1pm, catch DJ Ivo Morello, one half of the DJ duo the Morello Twins throwing out some seriously good electro-beats to keep the vibes high.

Again, you don’t have to worry about the kids, they’ll be entertained with a dose of good old-fashion fun; balloon benders will twist and wiggle balloons into animals and other shapes and of course some face-painting.

From 7pm, there’ll be some funky beats from Carl & The Reda Mafia. With members from India, Greece, Egypt and Nigeria these guys will be rocking out with their ‘Funk Jam’ tunes. You’ll love it.

Wednesday May 4

Finish off the three days of birthday celebrations with a bang (and lots of bites).

Try some delicious pud from The Lighthouse – Pastry and Dessert, and tick off another new Time Out Market vendor off your list. Grab an iced mocha from new vendor Boon Coffee too, as you sit back and enjoy the celebrations.

Signed singer-songwriter Danny Aridi will be giving his own unique twists to some classics and other chart-topping hits. The Canadian-Lebanese star will wow you with his vocals as he belts out the tunes and you bury that burger.

You’ll be able to munch in peace as the kids are kept entertained with balloon bending and face-painting.

If you fancy staying on, Time Out Market regular and popular DJ, DJ Frezidante will be spinning the decks and throwing out some cracker beats. Expect the mixing of various genres like hip-hop, Afro beats, RnB and some classic hits.
