It is hoped that the increase in flight frequencies and destinations will help with the travel boom following the pandemic after the Indian government restored international flights to and from the country on Sunday March 27. It marked the first time that India has resumed international travel in nearly two years.

Before the India travel update, only destinations with air bubble agreements were able to fly to and from India during the pandemic. Flights between the UAE and India were already operational because of an air bubble agreement.
