Where to go glamping in Abu Dhabi

Experience the great outdoors in style without leaving the capital

Abu Dhabi has some of the most scenic views in the world, with incredible nature and plenty of breathtaking geography to explore. And what better way to do so than to throw yourself into the great outdoors?

If, like us, you’ve always loved the idea of camping but aren’t as keen on setting up a tent or sharing your sleeping bag with creepy crawlies, then we’ve got the perfect solution: glamping.

Taking all the best parts of camping and adding luxury into the mix, the glamourous alternative is great for adventurous nature lovers who prefer exploring in style.

There are plenty of incredible spots for this in the UAE but if you’re wondering where to go glamping in Abu Dhabi, then look no further. Here are the top places to sleep under the stars in the capital…

Arabian Nights Village

For the ultimate glamping experience, visit Arabian Nights Village where you can spend the night stargazing whilst soaking up the traditional Arabic atmosphere and scenic views of the desert dunes. Stay in the luxury Bedouin tents with modern amenities such as air conditioning and washrooms. You’ll also find a small souk, a huge swimming pool with sun loungers, an al fresco dining area and a restaurant with tables and comfy sofas outside.

Jebel Hafeet Desert Park

Situated the foot of the Jebel Hafeet, Al Ain’s tallest mountain, you can expect incredible views here. Not only does it offer glampers fully equipped and air-conditioned bubble or dome tents as well as traditional Bedouin-style ones but Jebel Hafeet Desert Park is the perfect place to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site. Spend your days seeing the historic remains from the Neolithic period and 5,000-year-old Bronze Age tombs and your nights stargazing in your luxury tent.

Jubail Mangroves Park

Abu Dhabi’s Jubail Mangrove Park has quickly become one of the most popular attractions in the city since opening in January, with over 80,000 people visiting the park in its first month. But that’ll be nothing compared to how many of us will want to go once they launch their glamping experience. Five air-conditioned domes will be available for overnight stays for those who want to spend the night under the stars, with each dome featuring a double bed and an attached wet room with a toilet and shower. An on-site reception building will also be open, including a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi – talk about luxury. The glamping domes are set to open sometime this year so keep your eyes peeled for more information.

Qasr Al Sarab

Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara was crowned the most Instagrammable hotel in the world last year and for good reason, it’s stunning. Tucked between stunning orange dunes, the hotel offers a Bedouin Night Camping Experience, a luxury glamping package. You can choose to arrive at the outdoor camping site by camel ride or by hitching a ride in a 4×4. Once at the site, a majlis will welcome you where you can enjoy some dates and Arabic coffee before checking into your camp room overlooking the dunes. While you’re there you can also have an authentic Emirati meal, watch falconry shows and try activities including archery and dune bashing.
