Where to find food trucks in Abu Dhabi

Grab a bite of street food at these independent outlets

Are you hungry to try food trucks in Abu Dhabi?

We hold our hands up and admit we love food in all its variations and styles from high end delights to humble snacks.

That being said we’d be lying if we didn’t say that we hold a special place in our hearts for street food – the more authentic the better.

So when we want a food fix and we’re not looking for white table cloths and to get our Sunday’s best on, we head to a food truck for a quick bite on the go.

Luckily for us, there are a few spots around the city where you can find food trucks parked up and at events across the city its common to see the food trucks out in force, too.

Hungry already and looking to tuck in? We’ve got you covered.

Al Hudayriat Island

This cool hangout has grabbed our attention for a lot of reasons since it opened.

Al Hudayriat Island, over the bridge, is home to a free public beach as wel as a number of recreational spaces including four football fields, four volleyball courts, four basketball courts, four tennis courts, two beach football fields, two beach volleyball courts, and an open garden.

Plus, a number of events have been held in recent memory to attract even more attention including film screenings, sporting challenges and much more in-between.

That’s great and all but we’re here to talk about the food.

On site there are a number of food trucks ready to make some tasty treats for you and stop the rumble in your tummy.

You can drive right up and order at the window or park up and sit and enjoy your bite to eat, the choice is yours.

The trucks change from time to time but you can find a range of coffee spots, burger joints and ice cream too, so all the bases are covered then, right?

Al Bateen Beach

Just around the corner from Al Hudayriat Island, Al Bateen Beach is another top spot for checking out some food trucks and lounging on the beach too.

Plus, there really isn’t a better spot in the city to take in the view of the spectacular bridge and get a few snaps for social media too (obvs).

There’s a playground for kids, areas to play a bit of football and activities including kayaking and paddling, available from the beach’s water sports centre, where you can rent equipment.

We know what you’re thinking, hurry up and get to the food… Ok, sorry.

Of course there are food trucks a plenty and all the bases are covered here with a bunch or burger joints, sweet treats, coffee spots and much more.

What’s not to like?

Khalifa City

If you’ve been driving through Khalifa City and noticed a mass collection of food trucks, you weren’t hallucinating and it’s not a food convention either.

The Khalifa City Truck Park is something of a foodie secret in this city, although it’s hard to miss if you live in the area admittedly.

Located opposite Al Raha International School you really can’t miss all the food trucks lined up here ready to serve.

When we say you are spoiled for choice, we mean it, we can’t tell you how many times we’ve wasted valuable eating time waking around deciding what to spend our hard earned dirhams on.

Burgers, sushi, shawarma, coffee, ice cream, argh it’s happening again, we can’t make up our minds.

Umm Al Emarat Park

We make no secret of our love of the RIPE Market and if you’re foodie (And of course you are) then there’s even more to love away from the organic produce and cool artisanal goods for sale from local vendors.

Each week when the market takes over Umm Al Emarat Park on a Saturday afternoon you can find a host of food trucks on site ready to cook up a storm.

Over the years we’ve tucked into quesadillas, biryani, grilled cheese, coffee, the list goes on and on.

Trust us, you’ll be well fed and what can be better than chilling in the park with a bite to eat? Answers on a postcard please. You know where to find us.
