Quick guide to Abu Dhabi’s fuel station shake-up

Don’t be caught out by the changes

Earlier this month, we brought you the news fuel giants Adnoc are to start charging you to have your vehicle filled up with fuel.

It’s part of a new scheme where motorists are encouraged to do it themselves, or pay a small fee to continue having it done for you, which was common until now.

The initiative is due to be introduced to the firm’s stations in Abu Dhabi this month, although the size of the “small fee” has not been revealed yet.

Many expats will have no problem adjusting as it is standard to fill your own vehicle in many countries.

But some people were frustrated with the change, expressing concerns they had never learned how to fill up for themselves.

So luckily, Adnoc has released this handy guide on its website to going solo.
