Solidarity wristbands for those who get tested for COVID-19 in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Health Services Company’s new initiative backs the fight against coronavirus

The fight against COVID-19 has seen not only Abu Dhabi, but the entire UAE unite in solidarity to help one another through the tough times.

To acknowledge this, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) has launched new wristbands to mark those who have been tested.

The special wristbands have been introduced as part of SEHA’s ‘I am committed’ campaign in partnership with 81 Designs, a UAE-based social enterprise.

The aim of the initiative is to increase awareness of the government’s efforts to minimise the spread of the coronavirus outbreak and further encourage the community to follow the city’s guidelines and get tested for COVID-19.

Each of the locally produced wristbands feature the campaign’s slogan and with more than 50,000 in production, the idea is that they will be worn by everyone tested at any SEHA-accredited screening facility in Abu Dhabi.

“The UAE’s leadership has taken exemplary steps to empower the country’s healthcare sector and effectively combat the global pandemic with country-wide testing, prevention and preparedness,” said Mohammed Hawas Al Sadid, Chief Executive Officer, SEHA Ambulatory Healthcare Services. “These efforts combined with the solidarity demonstrated by various private and public sector entities in the UAE, in support of the government’s initiatives has placed the country among the best in the world in terms of its response to COVID-19.”
