This updated flight schedule means that 21 weekly flights will operate between Abu Dhabi and Doha, and the combined weekly tally for flights from Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to Qatar will be brought to 56.

As Abu Dhabi is just an hour from Dubai, and the FIFA World Cup is set to kick off in November, this could be a good option for those living on the border or looking for alternative ways of getting to Qatar.

Qatar Airways flights from Abu Dhabi to Doha are expected to increase connectivity and give more flexibility to UAE residents planning to fly to Doha in general and for the much-anticipated sporting event.

Passengers from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and beyond can also benefit from the vast networks and flights available on Qatar Airways to local and international destinations like Europe, the United States of America, Asia and Africa.

There are more requirements if you are flying to Qatar for or during the World Cup, such as hotel bookings for spectators of the games, so make sure you check those out here before taking the trip.

All ticket holders, including local fans, should apply for a Hayya Card, which is also now available through the Qatar2022 website, or by downloading the ‘Hayya to Qatar 2022’ app on iOS or Android.

The Hayya Card will give spectators their entry permit to Qatar and access to stadiums, as well as free metro and bus access.
