Sharjah’s Xposure International Photography Festival is now accepting entries

There are ten categories this year

If you’re a budding photographer, get excited, because Sharjah’s Xposure International Photography Festival is now accepting entries.

In its fifth year, the festival takes submissions from photographers of all ages, backgrounds and experience to compete in different categories.

This year, the main categories include landscape, portraiture, travel photography, architectural photography, photojournalism, macro photography and drone and aerial photography.

There is also a category for Sharjah Government employees, a junior category for UAE residents under the age of 18, and the short film and moving image category for filmmakers.

Winners in the main categories will get prizes, and the chance to attend the awards ceremony.

Shortlisted participants and runners up will be displayed on Xposure’s online and physical exhibitions throughout the four-day festival, which usually takes place in September.

The winner of the junior category will be given digital imaging equipment.

Tariq Saeed Allay, Director of SGMB, said, “Xposure International Photography Festival has today grown in scope and size to become an annual feature in the calendar of professional photographers, photography enthusiasts, filmmakers, students and educators.

“Over the past four editions, the prestigious Xposure Awards has received more than 45,000 submissions, enabling residents and visitors in Sharjah the opportunity to view and admire some of the best works of talented photographers from across the world.”

There will also be a number of workshops and seminars as well as a dedicated trade show during the festival.
