The UAE has announced further updates on visas and Emirates IDs.
Previously it was announced that UAE residency visas and Emirates IDs would be renewed free of charge in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
All renewal fees have been waived for those that expired at the start of March, for a further three months.
This applies to those whose UAE residency visas and Emirates IDs expired after March 1.
This act applies to federal government services, including documents, permits, licences and commercial registers, Emirates news agency WAM has reported.
The Cabinet will also waive administrative fines associated with any infractions starting from April 1 for three months.
In a series of tweets, the UAE Government has also announced those with expired visas will be given a three-month grace period starting from May 18 to depart the country.
Brigadier General Al Kaabi: As per the directives of UAE President,His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,holders of both residency and visit visas that expired in early March are exempted from fines.They have a three-month grace period to depart UAE starting May 18th.

Brigadier General Al Kaabi also stated that those leaving the UAE on expired visas, during the grace period, will not be prevented from reentering the country in the future if meeting entry requirements.
