Mandatory wearing of face masks indoors reaffirmed by UAE authorities

In an announcement made via Twitter this evening on Monday June 13, the UAE face mask rules were reaffirmed.

The tweets released by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) reconfirmed that it is mandatory to wear face masks wearing in indoor venues throughout the UAE.

It was noted that the UAE face mask rules remain necessary to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The government took the opportunity to remind the public of the collective responsibility to avoid crowded areas and said all necessary precautions should be taken when travelling.

UAE residents and visitors must also continue to wear face masks while using public transport and transport services such as taxis.

The NCEMA also restated that violation of the UAE face mask rules is punishable with a fine of up to Dhs3000 according to the Public Prosecution No (38) 2020. This ruling will be enforced and regularly monitored throughout the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, the UAE government also announced that it was reducing the validity of the Al Hosn green pass to 14 days.
