Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit opens for fitness activities

There are strict social distancing rules in place

Some activities have restarted at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit.

Since earlier this year, strict lockdown and social distancing guidelines have been in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

But now the city is gradually reopening, with bars, restaurants, hotel beaches and malls all able to welcome people once more.

Hot on the heels of announcing a virtual fitness challenge, the UAE capital’s F1 track has relaunched some of its weekly fitness sessions and on-track activities.

Yas Kartzone is now open to anyone aged 13 and above, but people must bring their own helmets, race suits, balaclavas and gloves, or buy them from the circuit. Drivers will not be permitted to share helmets, suits, boots, gloves or karts. OpenYAS car track days are also now available but DriveYAS is not yet in operation.

TrainYAS and TrainAM sessions are running for cyclists only (and only for Abu Dhabi Cycling Club members at the moment). You can sign up for the club here.

TrainYAS is held every Sunday and Thursday evening, while TrainAM on a Sunday and Thursday.

MEasures to keep everyone safe include a completely contactless journey with online-only bookings for all activities, temperature check and hand sanitiser stations, signage and floor markings offering guidance on social distancing rules, disposable gloves and balaclavas, plus customer flow-paths to ensure guests do not cross paths during the activity journey.
