Five Abu Dhabi brunches to try this weekend

Brunch is an institution in Abu Dhabi and for many weekends aren’t complete without one.

If you’ve been looking forward to getting your brunch on there’s good news as venues across the city have reopened and relaunched deals.

Ready to get brunching this weekend? Here are five to check out.

99 Sushi Bar and Restaurant

Head along to Four Seasons Abu Dhabi and you can enjoy some of the best dishes the restaurant has to offer with the Friday Zeitaku brunch. The 11-course menu features dishes including spicy tuna tartar with wakame, salmon flambé nigiri with lime, grilled foie gras nigiri with raspberry and tare sauce and more. Packages start from Dhs269 for soft drinks, Dh369 for house beverages and Dhs699 for bubbly. We’re already preparing our chopsticks in anticipation.

Giornotte

This is a real cracker, at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal from 1pm to 4pm You can get stuck into freshly prepared dishes, many of which are made to order by the on-site chefs. The brunch also features a range of vegan options for those following a plant-based diet. Packages start from Dhs299 for soft beverages, Dhs399 for house beverages and Dhs599 for bubbly. So if you’re brunching this weekend, Giornotte could be the place to go.

Hidden Bar

Hidden Bar has announced a new weekend food and drinks deal every Friday and Saturday and while they aren’t calling is a brunch, it does include a set menu of food and unlimited drinks for a three-hour period. Guests will start off with a host of small plates including artisanal cheese tart, cold cuts, sushi and sashimi, Thai salad, quinoa and more. For the main you’ll get a platter of chef specialities including smoked meat, peri peri chicken, home-rubbed ribs, grilled vegetables and roast potatoes. Ending on a sweet note you can enjoy a surprise dessert created by the chef. Okay, we admit it, we’re intrigued by the mystery dessert.

Ti set menu brunch offers a choice of appetisers, main courses and desserts all paired with free-flowing beverages so you can enjoy a leaisurely afternoon with a friend or your family. Plus, once you’re stuffed you can make your way to Rooftop Bar to enjoy a 50 percent discount from 4pm to 9pm for a nightcap.

Marco’s New York Italian

This set menu brunch takes place every Friday afternoon. Head along and you can tuck into starters of calamari, quarter salad, heirloom tomato and burrata salad, crispy New York Buffalo wings and American hot pizza. For mains you can choose from risotto funghi e tartoufo, mac and cheese with mushrooms, grass-fed beef sirloin, oven-baked black cod and cannelloni al funghi with cheese sauce. Desserts include Mr. White’s tiramisu, warm chocolate brownie and a classic 1930’s New York knickerbocker glory. Prices start from Dhs199 for the brunch, while the regular menu will also be on offer.
