Abu Dhabi could soon be welcoming approximately 10,000 new residents, as the government introduces new laws. Employees of local departments, public authorities and government-owned companies are being encouraged to move back to the city in the hope of bringing millions of dirhams into the city’s economy. The Dhs1.5 billion and Dhs2 billion currently allocated for annual housing allowances will only be applicable if employees choose to make Abu Dhabi their home.
