Abu Dhabi bus services resume, new buses added and services upgraded

Services are back to normal across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

Abu Dhabi has announced upgrades to the transport network in the emirate.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport has announced that 140 new public buses have been added.

Aiming to upgrade existing bus services, the new buses will help improve the quality of transport and frequency of services across Abu Dhabi city and elsewhere in the emirate.

A total of 112 new buses will operate in Abu Dhabi and 28 in Al Ain.

All Abu Dhabi buses are now back to working their original schedule before services were disrupted due to the spread of COVID-19.

Extensive cleaning and sterilisation work is carried out on each bus as part of ITC’s measure to ensure passenger safety.

The frequency of eight popular bus services including the 7, 22, 23, 54, 56, 63, 94 and 102 has also been improved with the addition of 146 more bus journeys per day.

Community services have also been resumed in Musaffah and Mohammed bin Zayed City, including transfers to Abu Dhabi International Airport.

On the bus, passengers are required to take precautionary measures including wearing a mask and maintaining a safe social distance.
