Free internet access launched on buses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

520 buses are now connected

Abu Dhabi’s buses now have free wifi.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has completed the first phase of introducing the service.

A total of 520 public buses now have free wi-fi access for passengers including 410 buses in Abu Dhabi and 110 buses in Al Ain.

The launch, in partnership with du, aims to improve the quality of service offered to passengers and make daily travel more convenient and productive.

All Abu Dhabi buses are now back to working their original schedule before services were disrupted due to the spread of COVID-19.

Extensive cleaning and sterilisation work is carried out on each bus as part of ITC’s measure to ensure passenger safety.

A total of 140 new public buses have been added and the frequency of eight popular bus services including the 7, 22, 23, 54, 56, 63, 94 and 102 has also been improved with the addition of 146 more bus journeys per day.

On the bus, passengers are required to take precautionary measures including wearing a mask and maintaining a safe social distance.
