Virgin Atlantic now offering free coronavirus insurance to all passengers

Medical expenses of up to Dhs2.38 million will now be covered…

Airlines across the globe are slowly getting back to business and many are looking at ways on incentivising people to get travelling again.

We recently announced that Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways is now covering medical costs if you get COVID-19 while travelling, and Dubai-based airline flydubai is also offering free global cover for COVID-19 expenses.

Now Virgin Atlantic is offering free coronavirus insurance on all existing and new bookings – including £500,000 (Dhs2.38 million) in medical expenses if a passenger is diagnosed with the virus during their travels.

The insurance will also cover expenses of up to £3,000 (Dhs14,317) if you are denied boarding or need to quarantine because of COVID-19.

If you do fall ill while on your holiday, the medical cover can go towards emergency treatment costs, as well as associated expenses such as transport, accommodation and repatriation. The policy is automatically valid on all flights until March 31 next year, and comes at no extra cost to passengers.
