Abu Dhabi alcohol licenses are no longer required for residents

New regulations have been announced

Individual alcohol licenses are no longer required in Abu Dhabi.

A circular sent by the Department of Culture and Tourism has informed premises in the capital that licenses are no longer required for residents.

Now, residents and tourists will be able to purchase the goods without presenting a license to retailers.

Distributors and shops selling alcoholic beverages have been informed of the new regulations.

Previously, individuals had to have a license to purchase beverages but now only need to be non-muslims over the age of 21.

Drinks can only be consumed in private residences or in licensed premises including bars and restaurants.
