Cucumber Day is making a massive comeback across the UAE from Saturday October 17 onwards and not just for a day – but for an entire month.
The delightfully peculiar annual event is now in its fourth year and this year more than 30 bars across Dubai and Abu Dhabi are going to be getting in on the action. And each bar has created a special juniper-based mixed drink, available for Dhs40 each.
In addition to the quirky month-long event, Bellavista in Dubai Marina’s Grosvenor House will be serving up a four-course cucumber pairing menu.
Offering bespoke juniper mixed drinks paired with cucumber inspired courses, the special cucumber-themed menu is available from Saturday October 17 until Saturday November 14 and is priced at Dhs195 per person.
The unusual menu begins with red prawn carpaccio with cucumber, citron mayonnaise and mixed spices before moving on to a hot seafood starter.
Juniper berries are the theme of the main course and dessert (we won’t give too much away) and each dish is paired with a unique juniper-based drink.
