All UAE residents are asked to dispose of face masks and gloves responsibly, to protect the environment and also to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
A team at Khalifa University of Science and Technology have developed the environmentally-friendly masks in partnership with the University of Salerno in Italy.
The NavaMASK has the same anti-viral properties of a normal face mask but is made of biodegradable filtration materials so it can be disposed of without ending up in a landfill.
