British comedian Jack Whitehall is coming to Dubai – to perform a one-off gig as part of Dubai Shopping Festival 2020-21, marking the first major international comedy show of the year in the city.
Taking place on Thursday January 14 at Dubai World Trade Centre, the standup comedy show, part of Whitehall’s Stood Up Tour, will see the 32-year-old funnyman return to the UAE for his biggest Dubai audience yet.
Stood Up follows Whitehall’s two sell-out arena tours in recent years – Jack Whitehall Gets Around in 2014, and Jack Whitehall: At Large in 2017.
Whitehall is no stranger to viewers of British TV shows, thanks in part to Decline & Fall, Fresh Meat, Bad Education, and partly for appearances on popular panel shows including Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats and A League of Their Own.
In recent years, Whitehall’s global audience has grown significantly since the launch of Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father on Netflix in 2017.
Now four series in, the show follows the comedian’s continued travels around the world in the company of frequently-exasperated Whitehall senior, Michael.
The first series saw the duo explore South East Asia, stopping off in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. A second series, launched in 2018, saw the pair travel through Germany, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey. In 2019, the pair’s journey through the American west was aired, while September 2020 saw the fourth series chart a trip around Australia.

The show on Thursday January 14 will follow strict social distancing guidelines, with details of full measures to be shared with ticketholders in advance.
