How to get to the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium

Want to avoid match day traffic jams? Grab your tickets and get on the bus

Traffic in the capital on regular UAE league match days is bad enough; just think how it’ll be once a major sporting event, such as the Fifa Club World Cup, rolls into the centre of town. Fortunately, the local organising committee have been thinking on our behalf and a free park and ride operation is already in place, available to anyone with tickets to the matches.

From outside the island
If you are arriving from anywhere off the island, head for Adnec. A park and ride station has been set up off Karama Street (between streets 29 and 33), and will shuttle visitors between Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium (December 9, 11 and 15) and Zayed Sports City (December 12, 16 and 19). The buses will run two-and-a-half hours before the matches begin, and for two hours after they end. It would, of course, be sensible to plan to be there as early as possible to avoid the inevitable last-minute rush.

Island residents

The Adnec station off Karama Street is still the best option if you are heading to Zayed Sports City (December 12, 16 and 19), but, if you are attending matches at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium (December 9, 11 and 15), a park and ride facility for island residents is available from Mushrif Park, off Karama Street and Mohammed Bin Khalifa Street (24th and 15th respectively). These buses are also operational two-and-a-half hours before the matches, and for two hours afterwards.

Tickets
At the time of going to press, tickets were still available for purchase, with prices for the preliminary rounds costing as little as Dhs10. The ticket hotline can be reached on 800 KICK (5425) or online at fifa.com/club-world-cup. What are you waiting for?
