Abu Dhabi’s Etihad airways updates travel rules for UK travellers

Change comes into force for anyone leaving the UK from December 24

Following an announcement by the UAE’s National Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, from December 24 anyone flying to the country from the UK will need a negative PCR test from the 72 hours before setting off.

Etihad is the only airline in the world requiring every one of its passengers to show a negative PCR test before travelling and again on arrival into Abu Dhabi.

PCR tests must be conducted at a government accredited medical facility., with a full list available at www.etihad.com.

The airline is asking passengers to provide extra proof of the time their test was taken, as many results don’t confirm the date or time.

Children under 12 and people with severe and moderate disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing.

As part of the Etihad Wellness programme, global COVID-19 insurance cover is included for all passengers travelling with Etihad.

You can find all of the airline’s health and safety regulations here.
